COVID-19, Staffing, & Fitness Center

Posted By on March 23, 2020

Dear Broadway Hollywood Homeowners,

Good day. On Friday, March 20th at 10:00 a.m., your Board of Directors along with Action Property Management held a special executive session to discuss preventative actions to be implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the stay at home order announced by Governor Gavin Newsom yesterday.

As part of the stay at home order, non-essential businesses have been forced to close with specific restrictions on restaurants. Katsuya, Pie Hole, Body Energy, APL, and others are still in operation. Katsuya is offering delivery and take-out every day from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Pie Hole and Body Energy will remain open on a daily basis with adjusted hours. Pie Hole will now operate from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. while Body Energy will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. New menus from APL are available at the front desk. A list of local restaurants that are still in operation will be provided for everyone over the next few days.

Regarding the staffing of Broadway Hollywood, janitorial, maintenance, front desk, valet, and management, all positions are considered essential. Below is an excerpt from Mayor Garcetti’s “Safer at Home” order that covers a short list of essential occupations / roles:

Plumbers, electricians, exterminators, custodial/janitorial workers, handyman services, funeral home workers and morticians, moving services, HVAC installers, carpenters, landscapers, gardeners, property managers, private security personnel and other service providers who provide services to maintain the safety, sanitation, and essential operation to properties and other essential activities.

In the event that further orders or closures are issued by the state or federal government, Action Property Management is in the process of developing scenarios for different levels of staffing if we need to further reduce the number of team members working at the property. We are hoping to keep staff members working as long as they are ready, willing, and able to do so. We do ask that you practice social distancing, including in your interactions with the Door Hosts, in an effort to reduce the chances of spreading illness. We may begin placing packages on a table in the lobby and ensuring that the appropriate resident retrieves them rather than handing them directly to you.

The next Town Hall meeting to discuss the upcoming rooftop reconstruction that was scheduled for April 1, 2020, has been postponed. Despite the postponement, the project’s architect will be bringing in samples and renderings that management will display for everyone to see. As always, the more feedback we receive, the better. We are still moving forward with the permitting and design aspects of the project. No designs have been selected yet. Further updates will be provided in the future.

The next Association meeting is still scheduled for April 1, 2020. You will be able to attend the meeting via teleconferencing. Management will provide the necessary information closer to the date for those that wish to do so.

To continue our efforts in making the building as safe as possible for all residents, the following temporary protocols for the fitness center were implemented on Saturday, March 21st:

• Only residents are permitted.

• Only one resident is permitted to be in the fitness center at a time.

• You MUST wipe down all equipment that you use.

• To use the fitness center, you must make a reservation with the front desk. Reservations cannot exceed one hour.

• There will be a thirty minute gap between reservations and reservations will not overlap one another.

• Please do not use the facility if: you have had a cough, shortness of breath, or temperature over 98.6, unexplained muscle aches, sore throat or cold symptoms during the past five days, or if you have had exposure to anyone who may have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last fourteen days.

Should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please reach out to management at sbieber@actionlife.com. Take care, and have a wonderful day.
